CBA roundup: Liaoning end Beijing's winning streak, Xinjiang overwhelm Guangzhou

BEIJING, Nov.22 (Xinhua) -- Former CBA Champions Liaoning Flying Leopards and Beijing Ducks met on Friday, and the game ended with a big win for the host team Liaoning.

Thanks to the 22 points and 12 rebounds from Brandon Bass, Liaoning defeated Beijing 109-91 in Shenyang.

The battle between two star guards Jeremy Lin and Guo Ailun attracted a lot of attention. Jeremy Lin finished with a season-high 29 points and Guo took home 21 points.

Five Liaoning players had double digits on scoring. Lance Stephenson, who was thought to be the top scorer of the host team, only collected six points.

Liaoning led for the most part of the game, especially in the final quarter, which Liaoning outscored Beijing 35-24.

The game snapped the two-game winning streak of Beijing.

Last season's runners-up Xinjiang enjoyed an easy victory, smashing Guangzhou Loong Lions 137-105.

Xinjiang center Zhou Qi contributed 29 points and 11 rebounds. His five other teammates had more than 10 points.

Keifer Sykes had a game-high 33 points for Guangzhou.

In Nanjing, Joseph Young posted a game-high 44 points plus 10 assists to lead Nanjing Monkey Kings to overcome Shanxi Loongs 127-119.

Young's teammate Behnam Yakhchali also contributed 29 points. Jamaal Franklin of Shanxi scored 35 points, shooting 10 for 17.

In Friday's other games, Shenzhen Aviators beat Bayi Rockets 108-82, Jilin edged Beijing Royal Fighters 82-78.
