German stocks see little change at start of trading

BERLIN, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- German stocks were virtually unchanged at the start of trading on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index rising 9.95 points, or 0.00 percent, opening at 13,256.40 points.

The biggest winner among Germany's 30 largest listed companies at the start of trading was dialysis specialist Fresenius Medical Care (FMC), increasing 0.75 percent, followed by German chipmaker and semiconductor manufacturer Infineon with 0.59 percent, and residential property company Vonovia with 0.53 percent.

The British investment bank HSBC recently maintained its "buy" rating, but raised its price target for FMC from 77 to 78 euros (84.9 to 86.0 U.S. dollars). The German dialysis specialist had convinced in the third quarter, wrote HSBC analyst Richard Latz. Shares of FMC were trading at just above 67 euros (73.8 dollars) on Tuesday.

The biggest losers of Germany's DAX index at the start of trading were building materials company HeidelbergCement, decreasing by 0.26 percent, followed by consumer goods company Beiersdorf with minus 0.24 percent, and chemicals and pharmaceuticals company Bayer with minus 0.2 percent.

On Tuesday, Germany's largest market research company GfK released its monthly consumer climate index, which saw a slight increase of 0.1 points to 9.7 points in December. In the previous month, the index had fallen to 9.6 points.

The euro was almost unchanged and opened 0.01 percent lower on Tuesday morning local time, trading at 1.1018 U.S. dollars.
