NANNING, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Kiura Denis Mugendi and Flavious Teresa Kwamboka from Kenya triumphed in the men's and women's competitions respectively at the 14th Nanning International Marathon in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Sunday.

Mugendi won the men's full marathon race in 2:16:57, while Kwamboka clocked 2:45:29 to top the women's race. Kenya runners rounded up the top three in both the men's and women's categories.

"I am very satisfied with my performance today because my target was to win," said Mugendi after the race, adding that Sunday's race was also a preparation for next year.

The event attracted some 28,000 runners from home and abroad, which also featured a half-marathon, a 10km run, and a 4km fun run.

Kenya's Muriki Charles Mahiuha and Deng Yufang from China took the men's and women's half marathon races respectively.
