BRATISLAVA, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Mikaela Shiffrin took the victory in front of 11,000 fans in Sunday's slalom event in Killington, USA, the fourth ladies' World Cup event of the season.

Slovakia's No. 1 alpine skier Petra Vlhova finished second and Sweden's Anna Swenn Larsson ended third.

24-year-old US skier Shiffrin confirmed her star status, winning by a tremendous 2.29 seconds margin after two runs and stretching her slalom winning-streak on the home slope in Killington, Vermont to four. The last season's overall World Cup and also slalom winner won her 62nd race across all disciplines, equaling the legendary Austrian Annemarie Moser-Proell in the second spot of the all-time rankings.

Shiffrin beat Vlhova in Killington for the third consecutive year. "I was feeling terrible, to be honest. It was a great struggle, I struggled with myself for the most part. After a not ideal start to the season, I really wanted to finish on the podium but the more than two-second deficit to Shiffrin is too much," said Vlhova after her 27th career podium.

Shiffrin extended her overall World Cup lead to 192 points.
