CARTAGENA, Colombia, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Tournament co-hosts Argentina will open the 2020 Copa America with a duel against Chile in Buenos Aires in a re-match of the 2015 and 2016 finals.

The clash will be played at River Plate's Estadio Monumental on June 12, raising the curtain on a tournament that will include guests Qatar and Australia.

Tuesday night's draw in the Caribbean coastal city of Cartagena pitted Australia in Group A against Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay.

All of the group's matches will be played in Argentina - in the cities of Buenos Aires, Cordoba, La Plata, Mendoza and Santiago del Estero.

Asian Cup holders Qatar were drawn in Group B alongside co-hosts Colombia, defending champions Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. Group B fixtures will be staged in the Colombian cities of Bogota, Barranquilla, Medellin and Cali.

The top four teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, to be played in Cali, Barranquilla, La Plata and Buenos Aires. Medellin and Cordoba were selected to host the semifinals ahead of the final at Barranquilla's Estadio Metropolitano on July 12. Bogota's El Campin will stage the third-place play-off on July 11.

Next year's tournament marks the first time that the competition will be hosted by more than one country since 1983, when it was played on a home and away basis.

The Copa America, which was first held in 1916, is the world's oldest international continental football tournament. Uruguay are the most successful team with 15 titles, followed by Argentina (14) and Brazil (nine).
