BANGKOK, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Thai Election Commission (EC) announced on Thursday that it will deliver a judgement next Wednesday on allegations against Future Forward party leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit's money loans to his own party.

Thanathorn had been accused of providing two loans, one at 161 million baht and the other at 30 million baht, to his party before the March 24 general election.

The Thai election law stipulates that the maximum spending amount for parties that field between 1-50 candidates is at 10 million baht.

EC chairman Itthiporn Boonprakong said in a press conference that the EC panel will conclude its work on the case based on available information and will then forward its findings to the commission office for a judgement on Dec. 11

If the case is substantiated, the commission office will pass its judgement to the Thai Constitutional Court for consideration.

By Thai election law, should the court find Thanathorn guilty, the latter is subject to a prison term not exceeding five years and be stripped of his voting rights for five years.

The executive committee of the party would also have their voting rights suspended for five years, while the party itself may risk dissolution.
