SHANGHAI, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- China's star skater Wu Dajing is a doubt for Sunday's second 500m final at the ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating in Shanghai, after injuring his waist in Saturday's 500m final.

A source in the national team told Xinhua that Wu was not seriously injured.

"His waist injury is not so bad but we will wait until tomorrow to see whether he will be fit enough to take part," said the source.

Wu crashed at the final corner when he attempted to pass Hungary's Shaolin Sandor Liu, leaving Liu to cross the line alone. A dramatic final also saw Hungary's Shaoang Liu slip and take Kazakhstan's Abazl Azhgaliyev with him after he had taken an early lead.

Shaolin Liu won gold in 41.920, while Wu crossed the line in 47.928, and Shaoang Liu ranked third in 52.208. Wu attended the medal ceremony but was later taken to hospital in an ambulance.

"Things happened so quickly in that race. I didn't even really realize what was going on," said Shaolin Liu. "I wasn't feeling in really good shape, so I was trying to survive."

"It was a really close finish. Wu Daijing was coming for two laps, which was tough. I haven't seen the video yet, but I was just biting the air so bad, and just trying to finish the race.

"The only reason I won is because he fell, otherwise he definitely would have passed me," added the Hungarian.
