OSLO, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Jarl Magnus Riiber won his fifth competition of the season, standing atop the podium in the men's individual event at the Nordic Combined World Cup race in Lillehammer, Norway on Sunday.

Riiber's teammate Joergen Graabak claimed the silver medal, 20.4 seconds after Riiber. Germany's Vinzenz Geiger took third with compatriot Fabian Riessle finishing fourth.

Earlier in the day, Riiber had won the ski jumping event once more, and managed to avoid a crash upon landing. 139.5 metres and 151.8 points gave Riiber only a narrow four-second lead over Austrian jumping prodigy Franz-Josef Rehrl.

Behind him, Graabak began shaping up as Riiber's toughest adversary. He had caught teammates Espen Bjoernstad and Jens Luraas Oftebro by that point and started his pursuit of the leader.

While Graabak managed to close the gap somewhat, Riiber held firm and at the finish line, 20 seconds still separated the two athletes.

While Riiber and Graabak strove towards top two in the race, a group of fast pursuers was out on the track for third place.

Geiger, Riessle, and compatriot Eric Frenzel sprinted for the remaining podium spot, with Geiger winning out. Behind Riessle, Frenzel was fifth, Oftebro sixth, Bjoernstad seventh, Thomas Joebstl eighth and Ilkka Herola was the fastest man on the track once more, skiing from position 26 to nine.
