Lebanon receives new military aid from U.S.

BEIRUT, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon on Tuesday received 16 containers of ammunition of different calibers from the United States, the National News Agency reported.

The ammunition, which is part of the American aid program for the Lebanese army, was received through the Port of Beirut.

The United States is the biggest provider of military aid to Lebanon, as the Lebanese army has received over 1.5 billion U.S. dollars in military aid from successive U.S. governments since the 2006 war with Israel.
