ANKARA, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- The traditional Turkish archery was listed as UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage of humanity, semi-official Anadolu Agency reported Friday.
The inscription was made during the 14th Session of Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage being held in Bogota, Colombia, Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The Foundation of Archers, which made major contributions to the revival of the traditional sports as well as the preparation of the nomination files, will organize an archery performance to mark the occasion, said the ministry.
The ministry also underlined that Turkey would continue promoting its cultural property to the international community.
