ANKARA, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Turkey added former Palestinian Fatah leader Mohammed Dahlan to the top category of most wanted terrorists list, Turkish Interior Ministry said on Friday.

Dahlan is sought with up to 10 million Turkish liras (nearly 1.7 million U.S. dollars) bounty on his head, over his alleged links to the Gulen Movement, which Ankara accuses of orchestrating a failed coup in 2016, the ministry said.

Turkey offers 4 million Turkish liras for information leading to the arrest of Dahlan, accusing the 58-year-old of being hired by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and involved in the coup attempt against the Turkish government.

Dahlan was expelled from Fatah party in 2011 over claims of plotting to overthrow Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. He has been in exile in the UAE since 2012.
