Riiber takes Nordic Combined World Cup win in Ramsau

VIENNA, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Jarl Magnus Riiber took the spoils in the seventh event of the 2019-20 FIS Nordic Combined World Cup season, winning on Sunday in Ramsau am Dachstein, Austria, in 23 minutes 45.9 seconds.

Riiber started his race from third position after a 126-point performance from the jumping round, and won by 2.8 seconds over his teammate Joergen Graabak.

Riiber leads this season's World Cup standings with 680 points after seven of 21 events, with Graabak in second place on 451 points.

Vinzenz Geiger, the winner of the sixth event on Saturday, placed third on Sunday after starting from 13th spot following a poor performance in the jumping round.

Jens Luraas Oftebro, who won the first jumping round of his career with 98m and 127.6 points, eventually placed 6th, 10.1 seconds behind Riiber.
