BRATISLAVA, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Inter Bratislava continue to reign supreme in the Slovak Basketball League, having won 15 out of 17 matches in the current season. Inter's latest triumph, their seventh in a row, came on Monday against seventh-ranked Svit after a closer than expected 84-73 win.

Inter coach Aramis Naglic's squad won the first quarter 29-9, but lost the next two by 14 and 5 points respectively. However, the league leaders pulled clear in the final quarter to condemn Svit to their fourth consecutive defeat.

Elsewhere, Lucenec stretched their winning streak to three after a close 77-70 victory at bottom side Komarno, whose defeat was their 14th this season.

Komarno's American guard Miles Bowman carried his injury-plagued squad with 37 points and 12 rebounds but failed to bring his team to victory despite a solid first quarter which Komarno won 27-17. Lucenec's latest addition to the roster, 36-year-old guard Nenad Milosevic, registered 9 points and 5 assists on his debut.

Fourth-ranked Zilina also stretched their winning streak to three, defeating Spisska Nova Ves 107-82 thanks to a strong second and fourth quarter, and crushing the visitors' hopes for their first away win of the season.

Zilina's success was greatly helped by the absense of their opponents' most productive player Eric Nottage, who had to sit this one out after refusing to take part in the SBL All-Star game.

Canadian shooting guard Justus Alleyn stepped in for his absent teammate, scoring 35 points and adding 6 assists, but Zilina's stronger bench proved to be the deciding factor.

Elsewhere, Prievidza defeated Levice Patriots 70-62. Prievidza was missing center Nikola Gacesa who had to leave for Serbia due to family reasons and the team found itself losing 8-21 after the first buzzer.

Despite the bad start, Prievidza managed to rally in the remaining acts thanks to an improved defense and a 7-0 run late in the game, denying Levice their first victory on Prievidza's court in almost seven years.
