HANGZHOU, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- Dezmine Wells scored a game-high 40 points to help Zhejiang Lions beat Nanjing Monkey Kings 130-117 at home in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Wednesday.
Wells nearly got a triple-double with 40 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists, while Hu Jinqiu added 26 points and 13 rebounds.
Guerschon Yabusele came off the bench to score a team-high 31 points and grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds for Nanjing.
Zhejiang stormed to a 12-0 run early in the first quarter and led 27-23 into the second quarter where the 27-year-old shooting guard Wells scored 17 points, but was unable to stop the visitors from making 8 baskets from the arc and overtaking the lead 57-53 at halftime.
After Sun Minghui made an easy layup for Zhejiang to tie 60-all, the visitors suffered the worst as their key player Behnam Yakhchali was injured .
Zhejiang used a 17-7 run to turn over the court and led 91-79 into the last period. Joseph Young made 10 of his 25 points to cut the deficits but failed to save Nanjing from losing.
