Iranian supreme leader urges probe over "shortcomings" concerning Ukrainian plane crash

TEHRAN, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday urged relevant authorities to conduct investigations over "possible shortcomings" leading to the recent crash of Ukrainian plane over Iran's airspace.

Khamenei's remarks followed the acknowledgement of "unintentional" missile launch at the plane by the Iranian armed forces on Saturday.
