HANGZHOU, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Guo Yifei hit the winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to help the Nanjing Monkey Kings beat the Zhejiang Golden Bulls 113-112 on the road in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Tuesday.
After Zhejiang led 108-103, Nanjing bounced back with a 5-0 run to tie it 108-all with 1:40 remaining.
Sylven Landesberg from Zhejiang made a free throw to make it 112-110 with only 12.9 seconds left.
Guo came out strongly for Nanjing, as the 26-year-old forward hit the basket from the baseline as time expired to help the visitors take the lead.
"We were very lucky, but we did play very well on defense and we deserved the victory!" Nanjing head coach Cui Wanjun said.
Joseph Young led Nanjing with 41 points, while Hamed Haddadi finished a double-double with 20 points and 18 rebounds.
Landesberg scored a game-high 44 points and Wu Qian contributed 27 points for Zhejiang.
"We didn't prepare well for this match, though our rivals' last shot was lucky," Zhejiang head coach Liu Weiwei said.
After Nanjing led 19-18, Zhejiang stormed to a 9-0 run including two consecutive 3-pointers from guard Wu Qian to take the lead 27-19 before leading 30-21 into the second quarter.
Zhejiang had the biggest advantage of the game leading 42-31 before the visitors answered with a 29-13 run to take the lead 60-55 in the third quarter. The away team maintained the lead in the third quarter and led 85-81 going into the last period.
After the result, Zhejiang drops to 9th while Nanjing remains in 13th place.
