Gunfire heard at buildings of Sudan's intelligence service

KHARTOUM, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Heavy gunfire was heard at some buildings of Sudan's General Intelligence Service (GIS) in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum on Tuesday.

According to eyewitnesses, the gunfire took place in front of the GIS headquarters in the Kafouri neighbourhood in northern Khartoum and then spread to other buildings.

The cause of the shooting is still unclear.
