BEIJING, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Senior legislator Wan Exiang Wednesday called on compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and overseas to make new contributions in promoting the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations and advancing the process toward the peaceful reunification of China.
People across the Strait and overseas Chinese should work together for greater national interests, said Wan, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
He made the remarks at a Lunar New Year reception held in Beijing by the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK), one of the eight non-Communist political parties on the Chinese mainland.
Wan, also chairman of the RCCK Central Committee, said the RCCK will continue to build itself up and make further progress in all aspects in 2020.
