Indonesia's Ginting defeats Denmark's Antonsen at Indonesia Masters finals

JAKARTA, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian top shuttler Anthony Sinisuka Ginting on Sunday lifted men's singles title at the Indonesia Masters 2020 after defeating defending champion Anders Antonsen.

Ginting beat Antonsen in an hour and 11 minutes by 17-21, 21-15, 21-9.

The Dane won his first-ever title after defeating Japan's Kento Momota.

In the women's singles, Thailand's Ratchanok Intanon secured a gold medal after outplaying Spain's No. 1 Carolina Marin in an hour and 20 minutes by 21-19, 11-21, 21-18.

The Indonesia Masters 2020 is taking place from January 14 to 19 at the Istora Senayan sports stadium in Indonesia's capital city of Jakarta.

The total prize money for the event is 400,000 U.S. dollars, which is up about 14 percent from that of the same event in 2019.
