URUMQI, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Zhao Rui contributed a team-high 24 points that propelled the Guangdong Southeast Tigers to a 112-101 road win over the Xinjiang Flying Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Tuesday night.

"When I was a rookie Xinjiang swept us in the final. Ever since then, I swore that I would try my best to defeat them," Zhao said.

In an eye-catching duel between the CBA's top two teams, Xinjiang played without international forward Jarnell Stokes, while Guangdong took control and led 31-26 as outside shooters knocked down 3-pointers.

Xinjiang were cold in the second, only adding one from the free throw line before Fan Ziming chipped in with nine points to cut the deficit.

With Marshon Brooks hitting a fadeaway shot at the buzzer, Guangdong still held a 53-46 lead going into the halftime break.

When Yi Jianlian was faced with foul trouble, Zhao terrorized Xinjiang's defense with his dribble penetration, with 19 of his 24 points coming in the second half alone.

Zhou Qi woke up from his slumber and scored six straight points to help Xinjiang reduce the arrears to 104-95, but Brooks responded with back-to-back driving layups to help Guangdong close out their 13th consecutive win.

Brooks finished with 21 points, while Yi Jianlian and Sonny Weems each notched 17 for Guangdong.

Fan Ziming had a double-double for Xinjiang with 26 points and 12 rebounds. On a frustrating night, Zhou Qi was limited to 16 points on 6-for-21 shooting.
