FRANKFURT, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 40.12 points, or 0.30 percent, to close at 13,515.75 points.
Automotive manufacturer Daimler lost 2.12 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by material manufacturer Covestro and multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer, which lost 1.68 percent and 1.41 percent respectively.
Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies gained 1.40 percent, the top gainer. Marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group and sportswear and equipment maker Adidas advanced 1.31 percent and 1.14 percent respectively.
Daimler was the most traded share, with a turnover of 342.7 million euros (380.0 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
