BANSKO, Bulgaria, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States won women's Alpine skiing World Cup downhill here on Friday.
The leader in the World Cup overall standings finished her run with a time of 1:29.79.
Federica Brignone of Italy came a close second with 1:29.97, followed by Joana Haehlen of Switzerland with 1:30.02.
Among the 51 athletes who started in Bansko, only 34 reached the final.
The victory extended Shiffrin's lead in the overall World Cup standings.
