WASHINGTON, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Hope Hicks, President Donald Trump's former communications director, will return to the White House as a counselor to the president, the White House confirmed Thursday.

Hicks, 31, is likely to come back to the White House in early March and work closely with Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner's office, according to local media reports.

However, "details are still being determined," White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said.

"I have worked with Hope for almost six years and can say without hesitation she is one of the most talented and savvy individuals I have come across," Grisham said in a statement, "I am beyond thrilled to welcome Hope back to the White House."

"There is no one more devoted to implementing President Trump's agenda than Hope Hicks," Kushner said in a statement. "We are excited to have her back on the team."

Hicks had been working under Trump for three years since before he announced his bid for the 2016 presidential race. She entered Trump's campaign team as a communications aide, and gradually evolved into one of Trump's most trusted advisors.

Hicks stepped down from her position as White House communications director in February 2018. She currently works as executive vice president and chief communications officer for Fox Corporation.
