COPENHAGEN, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Norwegian goal stopper Kristian Saveras was the primary reason Danish Handball Champions Aalborg took all the points in their Champions League 28-24 victory against Celje at home in a packed Gigantium on Sunday.

The big Norwegian produced a series of match-winning saves and instigated rapid counter-attacks that ensured Aalborg's Slovenian opponents were behind from start to finish.

However, Tobias Ellebaek in the Aalborg attack came to the rescue and scored four important goals while Saveras in the Aalborg goal saved a penalty.

With the win, fifth placed Aalborg share 11 points with fourth-placed Flensburg-Handewitt from Germany in their eight-team group.

While both teams automatically qualify for the knock-out phase they know that securing a fourth-place finish, on paper, may provide an easier opponent.

Aalborg will face HC Zagreb and Elverum, in their last two matches, both teams currently occupy the bottom two places of the Group.
