South Korea raises virus alert to highest level amid soaring cases

SEOUL, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- South Korea has raised its alert on the novel coronavirus to the highest "red" level, President Moon Jae-in said on Sunday as the total number of infections jumped to 556 in the country.
