PRAGUE, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Czech government on Monday approved a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Justice to introduce a collective procedure in dealing with consumer disputes, according to a release by the ministry.

The same or similar claims arising from unlawful conduct of rogue entrepreneurs, which are now being individually enforced by consumers, will be enforced together in a single legal proceeding thanks to the new proposal, said the ministry, adding that the aim of the proposal is to better protect consumers' rights.

"I think less sometimes means more, it's kind of good. We'll see how it works in practice," said Minister of Justice Marie Benesova.

She also said that the law would save a lot of time, relieve the courts and, for those who sued, the cost of the process would be cheaper.

Czech courts had repeatedly dealt with the same issue in a number of individual complaints, and a procedure dealing with collective complaints would relieve them of the burden, speed up the court proceedings and save the costs that the participants have to pay, according to the ministry.

The proposal will be brought to the parliament for further discussion.
