NUR-SULTAN, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin has highly appreciated China's effective measures in the battle against COVID-19 outbreak, admiring China's role as a responsible major country.

Mamin, who made these remarks while meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao here on Monday, also wished the Chinese government and people a complete victory over the epidemic at an early date.

For his part, Zhang expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan for its support and assistance to China in the anti-epidemic battle.

He said a positive trend is expanding in curbing the epidemic in China.

As an orderly resumption of work and production is underway, China is confident of achieving the economic and social development goals and tasks for this year, he said.

Zhang said promoting the high-quality development of Belt and Road construction is the major task for both countries, adding that China is willing to cooperate with the Kazakh side closely in this regard.

Mamin said Kazakhstan is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with China to mitigate the influence posed by the epidemic and continue to push forward the Kazakhstan-China cooperation projects on production capacity under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Kazakhstan will also ensure a safe and stable environment for Chinese projects and personnel in the Central Asian country, he added.
