PRAGUE, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek met on Wednesday with his counterpart of North Macedonia Nikola Dimitrov to discuss bilateral cooperation and the accession of North Macedonia into the European Union (EU), the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

"One of the priorities of Czech foreign policy is the integration of the Western Balkan countries into the EU," said Petricek, adding "The fact that the EU Member States did not find a consensus in last October to start accession negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania was a big disappointment for me."

The two foreign ministers also discussed closer cooperation in trade, culture, education, and mutual support in the UN.

According to the Czech foreign ministry, there is great potential for trade growth in the two countries.
