BEIJING, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Beijing called on citizens to donate blood to meet clinical needs, according to local authorities.
The Red Cross Society of China Beijing Branch and the city's blood donation office jointly issued a proposal on March 7, calling on citizens to actively participate in voluntary blood donations.
A total of 368 citizens have made appointments to donate blood after the proposal was issued, said Gao Xiaojun, spokesperson for the Beijing Municipal Health Commission.
