SOFIA, March 20 (Xinhua) -- The total hourly labor cost in Bulgaria rose by 11.9 percent year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2019, preliminary data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) showed on Friday.
The total hourly labor cost grew by 10.5 percent in industry, 11.5 percent in services and 14.5 percent in construction, the NSI said.
Among different economic activities, the highest annual growth in total labor costs was recorded in real estate, at 19.6 percent.
As for the structure of the total labor costs, the wages and salaries costs per hour grew by 11.7 percent in comparison with a year earlier, while the other (non-wage) costs rose by 12.9 percent, the NSI said.
According to the last available annual data, the labor cost per hour in 2018 in Bulgaria was 9.89 BGN (some 5.46 U.S. dollars).
