Burkina Faso reports 24 new COVID-19 cases, 2 new deaths

OUAGADOUGOU, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Burkina Faso has confirmed 24 new infections and two new death cases of COVID-19, bringing the number of total cases to 64 and the number of death to three.

"We recorded 24 new confirmed cases including 19 in Ouagadougou, 2 in Bobo-Dioulasso, 2 in Boromo and 1 in Dedougou", according to a statement published Saturday by Burkina Faso Television Broadcasting, a official national media.

The statemen did not reveal more information about the new infections and death cases.

Four ministers of Burkina Faso, including The education minister, territorial administration minister, foreign minister and mine minister, have been declared positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

President Roch Marc Christian Kabore on Friday evening announced a curfew throughout the territory from 7 p.m. (19:00 GMT) to 5 a.m., and a closure of land, air and rail borders. These measures will become effective from midnight Saturday.

Burkina Faso reported its first confirmed COVID-19 case on March 9.
