BEIRUT, March 23 (Xinhua) -- French Ambassador to Lebanon Bruno Foucher said Monday that France is among the first countries to stand by Lebanon in its fight against COVID-19, local media reported.
"We have supported Lebanon by sending medical equipment on March 9 and we will continue helping the country given the deep ties between France and Lebanon," Foucher was quoted as saying by Elnashra, an online independent newspaper.
Foucher addressed French expatriates in Lebanon by urging them to commit to measures imposed by the Lebanese government to restrict the spread of the virus.
He said that the French expatriates in Lebanon should be a role model followed by others in the way they commit to proper measures and healthy precautions.
