KINSHASA, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Health Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Eteni Longondo announced on Monday evening the country's first case of recovery from COVID-19.
The person, who got the disease a few weeks ago, no longer exhibits symptoms after proper treatment, the laboratory of the National Biomedical Research Institute (INRB) in charge of COVID-19 diagnosis in Kinshasa confirmed.
The DRC has already registered 36 positive cases of COVID-19. Most of the cases recorded in recent days in Kinshasa came from Europe, according to the INRB laboratory officials.
