BEIJING, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks rallied on Wednesday, sustaining the recovering of some lost ground seen in the past trading days.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index went up 2.17 percent to close at 2,781.59 points, while the Shenzhen Component Index was 3.22 percent higher at 10,241.08 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 751.3 billion yuan (about 106 billion U.S. dollars), expanding from 712.5 billion yuan the previous trading day.
Gainers outnumbered losers by 1,385 to 92 on the Shanghai bourse and 1,911 to 177 in Shenzhen.
Shares related to consumption, agriculture, automobile and medical equipment sectors registered strong performance.
The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 3.25 percent to close at 1,937.85 points.
