KUWAIT CITY, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait is ready to learn from China's experience in combating the novel coronavirus, a Kuwaiti official said on Thursday.

Rehab Al-Wotayan, director of the international healthcare relations in Kuwaiti Health Ministry, told Xinhua that Kuwait hopes to exchange expertise with the Chinese experts to deal with the outbreak of the COVID-19, after a video-meeting held by health experts in West Asia and North Africa region.

It was an opportunity to exchange experiences and coordinate efforts to save lives and maintain health security while stopping the spread of the virus, she stressed.

"The scientific evidence of confirmed cases and deaths that was published by the World Health Organization showed the success and the effectiveness of the measures taken by China," she said.

Kuwait reported 13 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of the confirmed cases in the country to 208, the Health Ministry announced Thursday.
