Chongqing, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality has tightened quarantine measures for international arrivals to further guard against imported cases of COVID-19.

All people arriving from overseas have to be put under concentrated medical observation for 14 days upon arrival, the local authority on epidemic prevention and control said Thursday.

Previously, people from countries with severe epidemic situations were quarantined at designated places for 14 days while the rest were subject to a 14-day home quarantine.

Chongqing had reported two confirmed imported cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday, both of whom are currently hospitalized.
