NAIROBI, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) has revised its travel schedules to tackle the spread of COVID-19, an official said on Friday.
Philip Mainga, managing director of Kenya Railways said in a statement that it has reduced its services on the Madaraka Express passenger service that plies between Mombasa and Nairobi.
"As from March 27, only one train shall operate between the two destinations," Mainga said.
He said the SGR's Madaraka Express Passenger Service, which has transported over 4.2 million passengers to date, has a maximum capacity of transporting 7,000 passengers daily between Mombasa and Nairobi.
