DHAKA, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday said the government will extend the ongoing shutdown to manage the spread of COVID-19.
She announced the government's plan while holding a video conference with senior government officials at the country's 64 districts.
"The shutdown might be extended by a few more days," said the Bangladeshi premier.
Bangladesh declared a 10-day shut down effective from March 26 to April 4 to battle the spread of COVID-19.
Two more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Bangladesh, making it 51 total confirmed cases in the country on Tuesday.
