NAIROBI, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's health ministry on Wednesday confirmed 22 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number to 81.

Health minister Mutahi Kagwe said 21 out of the 22 cases are people who are currently in quarantine. The patients had arrived in the country last week.

"In the last 24 hours, we have tested over 300 Kenyans and out of those, 22 have tested positive. This is the largest number we have received in a day," Kagwe told journalists in Nairobi.

He said two Cameroonians, 18 Kenyans and two Pakistanis are among those who tested positive to COVID-19.

The health ministry said that all patients are doing well apart from one who is in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
