Ibex-35 rises by 2.30 percent on Tuesday

MADRID, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Share values on Spain's Ibex-35 benchmark stock market rose by 2.30 percent on Tuesday, with shares in Madrid opening at 6.844.30 points and closed at 7,002.00 points, amid continued optimism over the positive evolution of the number of coronavirus cases in Spain.

Twenty-eight of the companies trading on the Ibex-35 saw their shares gain value, while the share price of seven fell during the day, which saw the stock market recover the 7,000 point mark.

Property company Merlin Properties had the day's best results with share prices climbing by 14.36 percent, while the shares of technological consultancy, Indra Sistemas went up by 12.21 percent and those of the Melia International Hotels group gained 12.12 percent.

The telecommunications company Cellnex Telecom had Tuesday's worst results with its share price falling by 3.69 percent.

Property company, Inmobiliaria Colonial, had 2.76 percent knocked off its share price, while shares in pharmaceutical and healthcare provider, Grifols, S.A, lost 2.51 percent of their value.
