Cape Verde reports 14 more confirmed cases of COVID-19, 260 in total

PRAIA, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Cape Verde's Ministry of Health and Social Security announced on Monday 14 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 detected in the municipality of Praia, bringing to total number of infections to 260 in the Portugese-speaking country in west Africa.

According to the bulletin from the health ministry, 62 samples have been tested in the past 24 hours, of which 14 from the municipality of Praia turned out to be positive.

The ministry also announced 2 more recovery cases, bringing the total number of cured patients to 58.

The Prime Minister of Cape Verde Ulisses Correia e Silva announced last Friday the resumption of inter-island maritime connections for passengers from May 11, except the islands of Santiago and Boa Vista which are still in state of emergency until May 14.

So far Cape Verde has 260 confirmed cases, including 2 deaths and 58 recoveries. Among these confirmed cases, 197 are in the capital city of Praia. Enditem
