HONG KONG, May 18 (Xinhua) -- The first batch of Hong Kong residents stranded in India due to the COVID-19 pandemic was brought home Monday by a chartered flight arranged by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government.

The flight arrived at the airport on Monday morning from New Delhi, the capital of India, carrying 249 passengers including seven children under two years old, who had to receive virus tests and then be sent to quarantine facilities.

Since the global COVID-19 outbreak, the HKSAR government has arranged chartered flights to take home residents from several countries. Enditem
