TEHRAN, May 19 (Xinhua) -- At least two "terrorists" were killed in a clash with Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in the west of the country on Tuesday, the IRGC said.

The clash erupted in the afternoon between the IRGC forces and an "eight-member anti-revolutionary terrorist group" in the Marivan region of Iran's Kurdistan province, the IRGC said in a statement carried by Tasnim news agency.

Two of the "anti-revolutionary terrorists" were killed in the clash, it said.

Earlier in the month, an unspecified number of the IRGC forces as well as some members of an unidentified armed group were killed in the clashes in the Divandarreh region in Kurdistan province.

Iran's Kurdish-populated region in the west of the country, bordering Iraq, has been the scene of deadly clashes between Iranian security forces and Kurdish rebels over the past decades. Enditem
