KUNMING, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Yunnan Province exported fresh-cut flowers and flower seedlings worth 400 million yuan (56.3 million U.S. dollars) in the first four months of the year, up 29 percent year on year, local customs authorities said Thursday.

From January to April, the exported fresh-cut flowers surged by 86 percent year on year to 260 million stems while the export volume of flower seedlings rose to 120 million stems, up 38 percent year on year, according to the customs of Kunming, the provincial capital.

The mild climate in Yunnan allows flowers of various kinds to blossom during all seasons, making the province a major flower plantation base and market. Enditem
