HANOI, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam reported no new cases of COVID-19 infection on Thursday, with its total confirmed cases remaining at 327 and zero deaths so far, according to its Ministry of Health.

As many as 278 have totally recovered from the disease as of Thursday, said the ministry.

Vietnam has recorded no local transmission for 42 straight days while there are nearly 9,800 people being quarantined and monitored nationwide, according to the health ministry.

At a meeting held Thursday, the country's National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control agreed that Vietnam should not open door to all foreign tourists at this time, as risks of transmission from outside remain, Vietnam News Agency reported.

Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has coordinated with tourism associations to prepare plans to welcome international visitors when the epidemic is well contained, the news agency cited the ministry as saying, noting that it will focus on stimulating domestic tourism in the immediate future.
