MOGADISHU, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Two Somali security officers were killed in a bomb blast in Mogadishu on Thursday, officials said.

Salah Omar Hassan, spokesman for Benadir regional administration, said the blast near Muno Hotel in Mogadishu's Hamarweyne district was caused by an improvised explosive device, which was fitted inside the police officer's car that exploded.

"We lost one police officer and his security guard, and another one was injured in the blast, this is al-Shabab's brutal acts," Hassan said.

Al-Shabab militants claimed the responsibility for the latest attack. Enditem
