MEDELLIN, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Belgium's Racing Genk have reached a deal to sign right-back Daniel Munoz from Atletico Nacional, the Colombian club said on Thursday.

The 24-year-old will travel to Belgium once international travel restrictions are lifted to undergo a medical check and sign outstanding paperwork.

"Atletico Nacional thanks Daniel for his dedication and professionalism," Nacional said in a statement. "We know that the stay was short and that challenges remain, but we wish him the best to achieve his personal, family and professional goals."

No further details were given about the agreement.

Munoz made 31 first-team appearances for the Medellin side, which he joined from Rionegro in 2019.

His impressive performances last year earned him a call-up for Colombia's friendlies against Brazil and Venezuela, though he had to withdraw because of an injury.

Belgium's Pro-League cancelled its season in April because of the COVID-19 pandemic, though the decision has yet to be ratified. Enditem
