SOFIA, May 29 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 recoveries in Bulgaria has significantly exceeded newly confirmed cases, the country's Chief State Health Inspector Angel Kunchev said in a statement on Friday morning.
"The number of recoveries was 51, and the total already exceeded 1,000. It is 1,016, or 41 percent of all proven cases," Kunchev said.
Only eight new COVID-19 cases were confirmed on Thursday, taking the total to 2,485, according to Kunchev.
However, two more patients have died, raising the death toll to 136, he added. Enditem
