BEIRUT, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's COVID-19 infections increased on Friday by four cases to 1,172 while the death toll remained unchanged at 26, the National News Agency reported.

The Lebanese cabinet has imposed a few days ago a fine of 50,000 Lebanese pounds (33 U.S. dollars) on those who do not wear masks while walking on the streets or using public transportation.

Lebanon has been taking tough measures in its fight against COVID-19 since Feb. 21 and the country has received aid from different countries to fight against the virus including China.

The Chinese People's Liberation Army on Thursday donated surgical face masks, goggles, protective clothing and other medical supplies to the Lebanese army to help combat COVID-19. Enditem
