Malaysia's Defense Ministry holds ceremony to receive Chinese medical donations to fight COVID-19

KUALA LUMPUR, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's Ministry of Defense on Wednesday held a handover ceremony to receive medical supplies donated by China's Ministry of National Defense.

Malaysian Defense Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob received the donations from Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Bai Tian at the ceremony, the ministry said in a statement, adding that the medical equipment will aid its frontliners in their fight against the COVID-19 outbreak.

The aid includes surgical masks, gloves, personal protection equipment (PPE), among others, and had arrived in Malaysia in May, according to the statement.

Malaysia's Ministry of Defense expressed appreciation to China for the medical supplies and its continuous support to join Malaysia's efforts in fight against COVID-19, it added. Enditem
